Originally from London, Angie Stimson graduated with a BA Hons degree in Fine Art and Filmmaking from Central St. Martins School of Art. After leaving St Martins she was awarded several film making grants from Westminster Arts Council and later taught film making and video editing at Battersea Arts Center. After moving to the US, she created the 'Exploding Cinema', a festival showing short films, installation and performance art in Atlanta, New Orleans, Seattle and Los Angeles. All Angie's current video installation work is based on a reflection and appreciation that can only come from viewing British culture from a distance. A realization of how British society has created a safe haven for the acceptance and celebration of the Great British Eccentric. A place that encourages the glamorous, vain and bizarre, where singularity is of the absolute essence.
